Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. This product is stable at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
This antibody reacts specifically with human MEK1. Cross-reactivity is expected with human, mouse, and rat based on sequence identity of the peptide immunogen. It does not react with the MEK2 isoform.
Target Information
MAP2K1 (MEK1) kinase is a dual-specificity protein kinase that functions in mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) cascades, controlling cell growth and differentiation. MAP2K1 is activated by various growth factors, cytokines, membrane depolarization, and calcium influx. MEK1 is activated by phosphorylation of serine residues 218 and 222 by Raf1 and is involved in stress response, apoptosis, and proliferative signaling. Mutations in MAP2K1 can lead to cardiofaciocutaneous syndrome.
