Reconstitute with 0.2 mL of distilled water to yield a concentration of 500 µg/mL.
Target Information
ATP-dependent calcium pumps maintain low cytoplasmic calcium concentrations. These pumps, located in intracellular organelles, are encoded by the SERCA (sarcoplasmic/endoplasmic reticulum calcium ATPase) family of enzymes.
- SERCA1: Expressed exclusively in type II (fast) skeletal muscle.
- SERCA2: Has tissue-dependent isoforms—SERCA2a (type I skeletal, cardiac, smooth muscle) and SERCA2b (all cell types).
- SERCA3: Found in non-muscle cells and less well characterized.
