Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human EGF. Anti-Human EGF-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Human EGF matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human EGF by sandwich ELISA (100 µL/well antibody solution), use 0.5–2.0 µg/mL of this antibody. When used with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human EGF (500-P45Bt) as a detection antibody, it can detect at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human EGF.

Western Blot:
For detection of Human EGF by Western Blot, use 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. When used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human EGF is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor):
EGF binds to the EGF receptor (EGFR), a 170 kDa protein kinase, initiating multiple cellular pathways in response to environmental stimuli. Upon binding, EGFR forms homo- or heterodimers with other family members, triggering distinct signaling cascades via SH2-containing effector proteins. EGF is widely expressed in kidney, cerebrum, prostate, and salivary glands, acting as a potent mitogenic factor. It activates major pathways including RAS-RAF-MEK-ERK, PI3K-AKT, PLCγ-PKC, and STAT. Dysregulation of EGF signaling is associated with tumor progression and certain genetic disorders such as hypomagnesemia type 4.
