Product Specific Information

Description:
The M1/70 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD11b (integrin alphaM, 165–170 kDa). CD11b forms a non-covalent complex with CD18 (Mac-1) and binds CD54 (ICAM-1), C3bi, and fibrinogen. It is expressed by macrophages, NK cells, granulocytes, activated lymphocytes, and B-1 cells. M1/70 also cross-reacts with human CD11b and detects this antigen on monocytes, granulocytes, and NK cells. CD11b participates in adhesive cell interactions through ligand binding.

Target Information

CD11b (integrin alpha-M, ITGAM) is a 165 kDa adhesion molecule forming a heterodimer with CD18 (integrin beta-2). The CD11b/CD18 complex, known as Mac-1 or CR3, acts as a receptor for ICAM-1, ICAM-2, ICAM-4, CD14, CD50, CD23, heparin, iC3b, fibrinogen, and Factor X.
It is expressed on monocytes/macrophages, granulocytes, activated lymphocytes, NK cells, dendritic cells, and brain microglia. CD11b expression increases during monocyte maturation and varies across tissue macrophages.
Associated diseases include systemic lupus erythematosus and ITGAM-related lupus susceptibility.
