Product Specific Information

This 3G8 monoclonal antibody reacts with human and non-human primate CD16 (Fc gamma RIII), which exists as two isoforms, FcγRIIIA and FcγRIIIB.

  • FcγRIIIA: Expressed on monocytes, macrophages, and NK cells
  • FcγRIIIB: Expressed on neutrophils

In non-human primates, CD16 expression patterns vary by species. Binding of IgG triggers signal transduction leading to ADCC, phagocytosis, cytokine release, and antigen presentation.

The 3G8 clone exhibits functional activities such as inhibition of cytotoxic ability, activation of cell signaling, and NK cell depletion in vivo. It has been validated in multiple primate species (e.g., chimpanzee, rhesus, marmoset, baboon).

Cross-blocking studies show 3G8 recognizes the same epitope as CB16, but distinct from B73.1.

CD16 encodes a receptor recognizing the Fc portion of IgG, involved in clearance of immune complexes and mediation of cytotoxicity.
