Product Specific Information
The 61D3 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD14, a 53–55 kDa GPI-linked glycoprotein expressed on monocytes, interfollicular macrophages, and some dendritic cells. Complexes of LPS and LBP bind with high affinity to monocytes through surface CD14.

Target Information
CD14 is a 55 kDa GPI-anchored glycoprotein expressed on mature monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils. It acts as a multifunctional lipopolysaccharide receptor, found both in membrane-bound and soluble forms. CD14 binds LPS via LBP, discriminates structural differences between LPS molecules, and plays roles in inflammatory and infectious responses. It can also bind apoptotic cells and influence allergic reactions.
Diseases associated with CD14 dysfunction include Mycobacterium chelonae infection and Croup.
