SIGLEC5는 시알산 결합 면역글로불린 유사 렉틴(Siglec) 패밀리의 구성원으로, Ig-유사 도메인 내 구조적 모티프와 시알산 인식 부위를 특징으로 합니다. CD33 관련 Siglec 하위군에 속하며, 단핵구, 대식세포 및 호중구의 활성화를 억제합니다. Group B Streptococcus(GBS)와의 결합은 GBS의 면역 회피에 관여합니다.
