Product Specific Information
The 2G10 monoclonal antibody recognizes beta tubulin class III, a component of microtubules found exclusively in neuronal cells of adult mammals. During fetal development, transient expression occurs in glial and neuronal precursors localized to the subventricular zone.
Identification of beta tubulin class III is useful as a structural marker for developing and mature neural cells. Given its high conservation across species, the 2G10 clone recognizes human, mouse, rat, and bovine beta tubulin class III.
Applications Reported: Used for microscopy, immunohistochemical staining, and immunocytochemistry.
Applications Tested: Validated in immunocytochemistry of fixed and permeabilized cells at ≤5 µg/mL; optimal concentration should be titrated per assay.
Filter Recommendation: For eFluor® 570 conjugate, use filters capturing emission at 570 nm (e.g., Excitation 545/25, 565LP, Emission 605/70). Alexa Fluor® 555 or TRITC filters are also suitable.

Target Information
BetaIII-tubulin is dominantly expressed in neuronal cells and serves as an early marker of neuronal differentiation. It is a specific probe for neuronal-origin cells and related tumors. Also detected in Sertoli cells and transiently in non-neuronal embryonic tissues.
