Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of about 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
Component C2 is a serum glycoprotein functioning as part of the classical complement pathway. Activated C1 cleaves C2 into C2a and C2b; C2a then combines with complement factor 4b to form the C3 or C5 convertase.
C2 deficiency is linked to certain autoimmune diseases, and SNPs in this gene are associated with altered susceptibility to age-related macular degeneration.
The gene localizes within the class III region of the MHC on chromosome 6. Alternative splicing yields multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms.
