Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts with an extracellular epitope of CD5, a 67 kDa single-chain transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on mature T lymphocytes, most thymocytes, and a subset of B lymphocytes (B-1a lymphocytes).
Target Information
CD5 is a 67 kDa human T-lymphocyte single-chain transmembrane glycoprotein. It is expressed on all mature T-lymphocytes, most thymocytes, and many T-cell leukemias and lymphomas. CD5 also reacts with a subpopulation of activated B-cells and may regulate T-cell proliferation. It is found on 95% of thymocytes and 72% of peripheral blood lymphocytes, mainly in T-cell areas of lymph nodes. CD5 expression is associated with T-cell leukemias, lymphomas, thymus cancer, and Richter's Syndrome.
