This antibody has specificity for Human HSPD1/HSP60.
Target Information
The HSPD1 gene encodes a member of the chaperonin family. The encoded mitochondrial protein functions as a signaling molecule in the innate immune system and is essential for folding and assembly of newly imported mitochondrial proteins. The gene is located adjacent to a related family member, with a bidirectional promoter between them. Several pseudogenes are associated with this gene. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified. Mutations in this gene cause autosomal recessive spastic paraplegia 13.
