Product Specific Information
Preparation:
This antibody was obtained from a rabbit immunized with purified, recombinant Human CD66e (CEACAM5) (Met1-Ala685) and conjugated with PE under optimum conditions. Unreacted PE was removed.
Storage:
This antibody can be stored at 2°C–8°C for twelve months without detectable loss of activity. Protect from light exposure. Do not freeze. Sodium azide is toxic to cells and should be disposed of properly with large volumes of water.
Target Information
CEA (Carcino Embryonic Antigen, CD66e) is synthesized during fetal gut development and re-expressed in increased amounts in intestinal carcinomas and other tumors. It belongs to the immunoglobulin supergene family and serves as a useful tumor marker for adenocarcinomas. CEA is involved in cell adhesion, tissue differentiation, angiogenesis, apoptosis, and immune response modulation. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been reported.
