Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. These systems are developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information

The membrane-associated protein encoded by this gene belongs to the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter superfamily. ABC proteins transport various molecules across cellular membranes and are divided into seven subfamilies (ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, White).

This protein is a member of the MDR/TAP subfamily, involved in multidrug resistance. It functions as an ATP-dependent efflux pump for xenobiotic compounds, reducing drug accumulation in resistant cells and contributing to anticancer drug resistance. It also acts as a transporter in the blood-brain barrier.
