Description:
The HIR2 monoclonal antibody reacts with human glycophorin A, a sialoglycoprotein expressed by erythroid precursors and mature circulating red cells.

Applications Reported:
This HIR2 (also GA-R2) antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
This antibody has been pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells.

• Recommended use: 5 µL (0.015 µg) per test
• A test is defined as the amount of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 µL
• Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test

Target Information

CD235a (Glycophorin A, GPA):
A single-pass membrane sialoglycoprotein expressed in mature erythrocytes and erythroid precursor cells. CD235a carries blood group M and N specificities and provides a mucin-like barrier that minimizes red blood cell aggregation. It also serves as a receptor for Sandei virus, parvovirus, and Streptococcus adhesin Hsa.
