Product Specific Information

This antibody recognises the rat RT1Bu/Du MHC class II antigen, and cross-reacts with haplotypes c, d, l and n. It stains MHC class II molecules in several rat strains, including PVG, F334, LEW, and BN. However, it is not reactive with RT1a haplotype rats, including Wistar rats.
Additionally, this antibody cross-reacts with murine I-A and I-E molecules of all haplotypes tested (H-2b, d, f, k), making it suitable for all mouse strains.

Target Information

MHC (major histocompatibility complex) class II molecules are transmembrane glycoproteins expressed on professional antigen-presenting cells such as macrophages, dendritic cells, and B cells. Before reaching the cell surface, MHC class II molecules bind endocytosed exogenous antigens, which are then presented to T cells.
The antigen-binding groove between the alpha and beta chains is open at both ends and accommodates peptides 15–24 amino acids long.
HLA and MHC antibodies are important tools in Immunopeptidomics, aiding in the identification and characterization of neoantigens using high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry.
