1 µg/mL of MA5-27721 was sufficient for detection of ATF4 in 20 µg of rat brain lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
Detects approximately 60 kDa. Does not cross-react with ATF5.

Target Information

This gene encodes a transcription factor originally identified as a widely expressed mammalian DNA-binding protein that binds a tax-responsive enhancer element in the LTR of HTLV-1. The encoded protein was also characterized as cAMP-response element binding protein 2 (CREB-2).
The ATF4 protein belongs to a family of DNA-binding proteins including AP-1, CREBs, and CREB-like proteins, sharing a leucine zipper region for protein-protein interactions and a basic amino acid stretch functioning as a DNA-binding domain.
Two alternative transcripts encoding the same protein have been described. Two pseudogenes are located on the X chromosome at q28 in a region containing a large inverted duplication.
