Product Specific Information
The JES6-5H4 antibody reacts with mouse interleukin-2 (IL-2), a 17 kDa T cell growth factor and major immunoregulatory cytokine.
Applications Reported: JES6-5H4 has been reported for use in intracellular flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested for intracellular staining of stimulated mouse splenocytes. Recommended usage ≤ 0.25 µg/test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Antibody should be titrated for optimal performance.

Target Information
Interleukin 2 (IL-2) is an immunomodulatory cytokine critical for proliferation of activated T cells, differentiation of B cells, NK cells, monocytes, and macrophages. IL-2 signals through the IL-2 receptor (IL-2R), a heterotrimeric complex sharing its gamma chain with IL-4 and IL-7 receptors. Monoallelic expression of IL-2 in mature thymocytes represents a unique regulatory mechanism. Disruption of IL-2-like genes in mice leads to colitis-like disease, highlighting its essential role in immune regulation.
