Product Specific Information

The eBioCB-CALLA monoclonal antibody recognizes human CD10 (CALLA, NEP, enkephalinase, Neprilysin), a 100 kDa type II cell surface glycoprotein expressed on most acute lymphoblastic leukemias (ALL). CD10 functions as a Zn²⁺-dependent metallo-peptidase involved in the regulation of chemotactic and inflammatory processes involving neutrophils. It regulates stromal cell-dependent B lymphopoiesis and is also expressed on mature B cells in germinal centers, as well as on enterocytes, renal tubules, and glomeruli.

There is partial blocking between eBioCB-CALLA and MEM-78 antibodies, indicating recognition of similar epitopes.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended use: 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test (100 µL final volume).
Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Target Information

CD10 (Common Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia Antigen, CALLA) is a cell surface enzyme with neutral metalloendopeptidase activity that inactivates various biologically active peptides. CD10 is expressed on lymphoblastic, Burkitt’s, and follicular germinal center lymphomas, immature B cells, and cells from chronic myelocytic leukemia (CML) patients. It is also found on breast myoepithelial cells, bile canaliculi, fibroblasts, and highly expressed in the brush border of kidney and gut epithelial cells.

CD10 cleaves peptides at the amino side of hydrophobic residues and inactivates peptide hormones such as glucagon, enkephalins, substance P, neurotensin, oxytocin, and bradykinin. It is a 100 kDa type II transmembrane glycoprotein encoded by a >45 kb gene with four alternatively spliced mRNA transcripts.
