For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, an additional desalting step is recommended (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDL-R) gene family encodes cell surface proteins involved in receptor-mediated endocytosis of specific ligands.
LDL binds to the receptor at the cell membrane, is internalized, and degraded in lysosomes, releasing cholesterol that regulates HMG-CoA reductase activity — the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol synthesis.
Mutations in the LDL-R gene cause familial hypercholesterolemia, an autosomal dominant disorder.
LDL-R, along with SCARB1, CLDN1, and CD81, has also been identified as an entry factor for the Hepatitis C virus.
At least three isoforms of LDL-R are known to exist.
