Product Specific Information
This antibody is specific for NOX2/gp91phox (aa 382–389, PKIAVDGP). The immunogen was prepared using partially purified human neutrophil flavocytochrome b (heparin Ultrogellectin affinity purification in Triton X-100).
Western blot results show a band at 65 kDa, which matches the predicted molecular weight.
For IHC applications, perform heat-mediated antigen retrieval with citrate buffer (pH 6) prior to staining.
Target Information
Mox1 and the glycoprotein gp91-phox are essential components of the NADPH oxidase complex, which generates superoxide in phagocytes, neuroepithelial bodies, vascular smooth muscle cells, and endothelial cells.
The complex includes membrane-bound flavocytochrome subunits gp91-phox and p22-phox, and cytosolic proteins p47-phox and p67-phox.
These subunits also act as surface O₂ sensors initiating cellular signaling under hypoxic conditions.
Mox1 and gp91 share identical C-terminal sequences but differ in expression patterns: gp91-phox is expressed in eosinophils, neutrophils, monocytes, and B-lymphocytes, while Mox1 is mainly found in the colon, with low levels in the uterus and prostate.
