Target Information
SEPT5 유전자는 효모에서 세포 분열 조절 단백질로 처음 알려진 septin 유전자 계열에 속합니다. Septin은 효모, 초파리, 마우스에서 고도로 보존되어 있으며, 세포골격 조직을 조절하는 역할을 합니다. 기능 이상 시 세포질 분열이 방해되어 다핵 또는 다배수체 세포가 형성될 수 있습니다.
이 유전자는 22q11 염색체 영역에 위치하며, DiGeorge 및 velocardiofacial 증후군에서 자주 결실되는 부위입니다. 또한, 급성 골수성 백혈병 환자에서 MLL 유전자와의 전좌가 보고되었습니다.
2.2 kb의 주요 전사체와 3.5 kb의 부전사체가 관찰되며, 비정상적 polyA 신호(AACAAT)를 사용하는 경우 하류의 GP1BB 유전자의 polyA 신호가 사용되어 3.5 kb 전사체가 생성됩니다. 5' 말단이 다른 전사 변이체도 보고되었으나, 완전한 서열은 아직 규명되지 않았습니다.
