Target Information
The human MHC class II is encoded by three different isotypes, HLA-DR, -DQ, and -DP, all of which are highly polymorphic.
HLA-DP molecules have not been studied extensively. HLA-DP is a protein complex found on the surface of antigen-presenting cells such as dendritic cells, macrophages, and B cells. Its main function is to present peptides derived from extracellular proteins to CD4+ T cells for immune recognition.
HLA and MHC antibodies play a significant role in immunopeptidomics, facilitating the identification and characterization of neoantigens through high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry.
