Product Specific Information
The sym0F1 monoclonal antibody reacts with human and mouse c-Maf, a 42 kDa basic leucine zipper transcription factor involved in neural, ocular, and hematopoietic systems. In hematopoietic cells, c-Maf is crucial for IL-4 expression in Th2 cells and plays roles in Th17 and Tfh cell differentiation. It drives IL-21 expression and regulates IL-23R (Th17) and CXCR5 (Tfh) expression.

Target Information
c-Maf is the cellular counterpart of oncogenic v-Maf, a basic region leucine zipper transcription factor. It interacts with LRPICD and exists as two mRNA forms (long and short). c-Maf regulates IL-4, crystalline, insulin, p53, and L7 gene expression through Maf recognition elements (MARE). It is involved in Th2 differentiation, hematopoiesis, and IL-10 gene expression in macrophages. Chromosomal aberrations involving maf are associated with multiple myeloma, and it is expressed in myeloma cell lines and resting monocytes/macrophages.
