Product Specific Information
This antibody recognizes the intracellular part of human transmembrane adaptor SCIMP. The protein has a predicted molecular weight of 17 kDa and migrates as a 22 kDa band on SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
SCIMP (SLP adaptor and Csk interacting membrane protein), also known as Nvl, is a palmitoylated transmembrane adaptor protein expressed in professional antigen-presenting cells, most prominently in lymph nodes and spleen. It is associated with tetraspanin-enriched microdomains (together with MHC II). SCIMP interacts with tyrosine kinase Lyn via its SH3 domain. Upon MHC II-mediated stimulation in the immunological synapse, SCIMP becomes phosphorylated at several tyrosine residues, providing docking sites for Grb2, SLP65/SLP76 adaptors, and the kinase Csk, which plays modulatory roles in downstream signaling.
