MA5-17045 targets CD5 in FACS, indirect ELISA, and WB applications and shows reactivity with human samples.
The immunogen is a purified recombinant fragment of human CD5 (amino acids 27–233) expressed in E. coli.
MA5-17045 detects CD5, which has a predicted molecular weight of approximately 54.6 kDa.
Target Information
CD5 is a 67 kDa human T-lymphocyte single-chain transmembrane glycoprotein. It is present on all mature T-lymphocytes, most thymocytes, and many T-cell leukemias and lymphomas.
CD5 also reacts with a subpopulation of activated B-cells and may act as a receptor regulating T-cell proliferation.
It is expressed on 95% of thymocytes and 72% of peripheral blood lymphocytes, with main reactivity observed in T-cell areas of lymph nodes.
Diseases associated with CD5 dysfunction include thymus cancer and Richter’s Syndrome.
