Product Specific Information

The 2E7 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD103, the alphaE integrin. CD103 non-covalently associates with integrin beta7 and is expressed on intraepithelial lymphocytes, a subset of peripheral lymphocytes, and dendritic epidermal T cells (DEC).
E-cadherin binds to CD103 and mediates lymphocyte homing to intestinal epithelium.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse lymph node cells. Recommended ≤1 µg/test (final volume 100 µL). Cell number may range from 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Optimize titration for best results.

Target Information

CD103 (ITGAE, Integrin alpha E) is expressed on mucosa-associated T lymphocytes and activated cells. It comprises a 150 kDa alpha chain and a 120 kDa beta chain.
CD103 is expressed by 0.5–2% of resting lymphocytes in peripheral blood and lymphoid organs. It is part of the integrin family, composed of heterodimeric alpha and beta chains.
ITGAE encodes an I-domain-containing alpha integrin that undergoes extracellular cleavage, forming disulfide-linked heavy and light chains.
In combination with beta7 integrin, CD103 forms the E-cadherin binding integrin known as mucosal lymphocyte-1 antigen.
CD103 is preferentially expressed in human intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes and may serve roles in adhesion and activation.
