Target Information

FBJ murine osteosarcoma viral oncogene homolog, also known as Cellular proto-oncogene Fos (c-Fos), belongs to the Fos transcription factor family and is encoded by the C-FOS gene on chromosome 14.
c-Fos forms a heterodimer with c-Jun to create the Activator Protein-1 (AP-1) transcription factor, which regulates genes involved in signal transduction, cell proliferation, and differentiation.
It is phosphorylated by various stimuli such as growth factors and insulin at multiple sites. The ERK MAPK kinase phosphorylates c-Fos at Threonine 232, influencing its nuclear localization and transcriptional activity.
