Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
This affinity purified antibody is directed against rat VAChT. A BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with mouse and human VAChT based on 100% sequence homology with the immunizing peptide.
Target Information
The VAChT gene encodes a transmembrane protein belonging to the vesicular amine transporter family. It transports acetylcholine into secretory vesicles for release into the extracellular space, utilizing a proton gradient established by a vacuolar ATPase. This gene is located within the first intron of the choline acetyltransferase gene.
