Product Specific Information
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. These systems are developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits, followed by screening and selection of optimal clones.

Target Information
CD163 (M130 antigen, Ber-Mac3, Ki-M8, SM4) is a 130 kDa membrane glycoprotein, part of the scavenger receptor cysteine-rich superfamily, and acts as a receptor for the hemoglobin-haptoglobin complex.
It protects tissues from oxidative damage, participates in iron recycling, and is expressed on monocytes and macrophages during the late phase of inflammation.
Expression is upregulated by IL-10, IL-6, and dexamethasone, while LPS and PMA induce shedding of CD163 into plasma.
Binding to hemoglobin/haptoglobin complexes occurs in a calcium- and pH-dependent manner, with higher affinity for multimeric haptoglobin complexes.
CD163 also triggers intracellular signaling cascades involving tyrosine kinase-dependent calcium mobilization, inositol triphosphate production, and secretion of IL-6 and CSF1.
