Product Specific Information

The eBioRDR5 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD127 (Interleukin-7 Receptor alpha). CD127 complexes with CD132 (common gamma chain) to form the IL-7 receptor (IL-7R).
CD127 is a type I glycoprotein (~75–80 kDa) expressed on immature B cells, thymocytes, and most mature T cells, with transient down-regulation upon activation.
IL-7 binding triggers signaling via tyrosine kinase pathways, including Jak/STAT. IL-7 is crucial for lymphocyte development and T-cell homeostasis.

CD127 expression is down-regulated on CD4+CD25+ regulatory T cells (Tregs). CD4+CD25+CD127^low cells are highly enriched for regulatory T cells expressing Foxp3 and showing suppressive activity in vitro.

Binding of eBioRDR5 to PBMCs is blocked by pre-incubation with recombinant human IL-7 (Product #14-1079-80).

Target Information

CD127 (IL-7 receptor α) is a glycoprotein regulating lymphopoiesis. The active receptor is an IL7R α/γ heterodimer.
The γ-chain activates signal transduction, while the α-chain mediates specific signaling via cytoplasmic molecules.
CD127 promotes proliferation of precursor B cells, thymocytes, T-cell progenitors, and mature CD4+/CD8+ T cells.
Dysfunction of CD127 is associated with severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID).
