The MA1-142 antibody (clone L5) has been successfully used as a detection antibody in direct ELISA with FLAG-tagged protein-coated plates.
It recognizes a similar epitope as the FLAG tag from Sigma.
The immunogen is a recombinant fusion protein of mouse Langerin/CD207 containing a flexible linker sequence from E. coli OmpF and a FLAG epitope (J Immunol Methods. 2008 Feb 29;331(1-2):27-38. Epub 2007 Nov 26).
Target Information
DYKDDDDK tag (FLAG tag) is a short peptide sequence widely used as a protein tag for purification, detection, and localization.
It consists of eight amino acids: Asp-Tyr-Lys-Asp-Asp-Asp-Asp-Lys, and is often fused to the N- or C-terminus of a protein of interest.
The tag enables easy identification and isolation of proteins using anti-FLAG antibodies.
DYKDDDDK tag is more hydrophilic than other common epitope tags, minimizing the risk of protein denaturation or inactivation.
