This antibody detects endogenous levels of eNOS only when phosphorylated at Serine 615.
Target Information
Nitric oxide (NO) is an inorganic, gaseous free radical that functions as a signaling molecule mediating vasorelaxation, neurotransmission, and cytotoxicity. NO production is catalyzed by nitric oxide synthase (NOS) enzymes, which convert L-arginine to L-citrulline and NO. There are three major NOS isoforms: neuronal NOS (nNOS, type I), endothelial NOS (eNOS, type III), and inducible NOS (iNOS, type II). All NOS isoforms contain calmodulin, NADPH, FAD, and FMN binding domains.
