Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of MyoD1 only when phosphorylated at Thr115.
Target Information
The Myogenic determination gene (MyoD) was first identified by its ability to convert embryonic mouse fibroblast cells into muscle cells. Forced expression of MyoD (human homolog: myf3) can induce muscle-specific gene activation in various normal and neoplastic cells.
The regulatory domain of MyoD contains a 70-amino-acid region with a basic DNA-binding motif and a helix-loop-helix (HLH) dimerization motif.
Other related genes sharing sequence homology in the HLH domain include myf5, myogenin (myf4), and myf6 (MRF4, herculin).
