Product Specific Information
- PA1-1046 detects recombinant human ghrelin.
- Recognizes both octanoylated and non-octanoylated forms of ghrelin.
- Validated for Western blot, detecting an approximately 3 kDa recombinant human ghrelin band.
- Immunogen: Synthetic peptide corresponding to residues G(1)–R(28) of human GHRL.
Target Information
GHRL encodes the ghrelin-obestatin preproprotein, which generates ghrelin and obestatin.
- Ghrelin acts as a ligand for the growth hormone secretagogue receptor type 1 and regulates growth hormone release. It stimulates appetite, adiposity, and gastric acid secretion.
- Obestatin may act as a ligand for the orphan G protein-coupled receptor GPR39 and is associated with satiety and reduced food intake.
