Target Information
Gene: LMO2
Protein Function: LMO2 encodes a cysteine-rich, two LIM-domain protein essential for yolk sac erythropoiesis and hematopoietic development. It is highly conserved and plays a central role in hematopoietic regulation. The transcription start site is located ~25 kb downstream from the 11p13 T-cell translocation cluster, where T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia-specific translocations occur.
Alternative Splicing: Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms exist.
