Product Specific Information

The C398.4A monoclonal antibody reacts with ICOS (Inducible Costimulatory molecule), also known as H4/CRP-1/AILIM, and cross-reacts with mouse and rat ICOS.
ICOS is a T cell-specific activation molecule and a member of the CD28/CTLA-4 family. It is a 47–57 kDa dimer expressed on activated T cells and plays a key role in T cell activation, proliferation, and humoral immune response.
The C398.4A antibody strongly stimulates proliferation of T cell clones and IL-10 production from pre-activated cells. The epitope recognized by C398.4A differs from that bound by ICOSL, meaning it does not block ICOSL binding.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometry, immunoprecipitation, immunohistochemistry, and in vitro functional assays.
Note: Not suitable for Western blot (WB). For functional assays, use Functional Grade purified C398.4A (Product #16-9949).

Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of Con A-stimulated mouse splenocytes at ≤0.25 µg/test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Titrate for optimal performance.
