Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They consist of multiple different recombinant monoclonal antibodies, combining the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity and consistency of monoclonal antibodies.
These antibodies recognize multiple epitope sites on the target, providing higher sensitivity for low-abundance targets while maintaining reproducible performance.
Formerly called “Recombinant polyclonal antibody”, this product is now rebranded as “Recombinant Superclonal™ antibody” with unchanged physical and functional characteristics.
Target Information
TNF alpha is a multifunctional proinflammatory cytokine belonging to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily. It is mainly secreted by macrophages and binds to TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR receptors.
TNF alpha regulates immune responses, cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, lipid metabolism, and coagulation. It forms multimers but appears as a single 17 kDa band under non-reducing SDS-PAGE conditions.
Knockout studies in mice suggest neuroprotective functions and tumor necrosis effects. TNF alpha is implicated in autoimmune diseases, insulin resistance, and cancer.
