Product Specific Information

  • For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of about 1 mg/mL.
  • For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

STK3 (MST2) is a member of the STE kinase family acting upstream of the MAP kinase signaling pathways. It is activated by pro-apoptotic stimuli such as staurosporine and FAS ligand. STK3 functions as a stress-activated, pro-apoptotic kinase that, upon caspase cleavage, translocates into the nucleus to induce chromatin condensation and DNA fragmentation.

It plays a key role in the Hippo signaling pathway, which regulates organ size and tumor suppression by restricting proliferation and promoting apoptosis. STK3/MST2 and STK4/MST1, together with SAV1, activate LATS1/2 and MOB1, which in turn phosphorylate and inactivate the YAP1 and WWTR1/TAZ oncoproteins. This phosphorylation prevents nuclear translocation of YAP1, thereby controlling genes involved in proliferation, cell death, and migration.

STK3/MST2 and STK4/MST1 are essential for repressing hepatocyte proliferation, preventing activation of adult liver stem cells, and inhibiting tumor formation.
