Alexa Fluor™ Plus recombinant antibodies are conjugated using new proprietary dye chemistry, providing brighter signals and improved signal-to-noise ratios compared to traditional Alexa Fluor™ antibodies. These recombinant antibodies ensure superior specificity and lot-to-lot consistency through controlled gene cloning and in vitro expression.

Usage Note:
Before use, centrifuge the conjugate solution briefly and use only the supernatant to minimize nonspecific background staining due to potential protein aggregates.

Applications Tested:
Validated for flow cytometric analysis of human PBMCs. Recommended usage ≤ 0.25 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimize titration for best assay performance.

Target Information

CD28 antigen is a 44 kDa disulfide-linked homodimeric surface glycoprotein expressed on most peripheral blood T lymphocytes. It serves as a critical costimulatory receptor for T cell activation by binding CD80 and CD86 on antigen-presenting cells. CD28 prevents T cell anergy and premature apoptosis, playing a key role in immune regulation. It is highly expressed in immature thymocytes and all CD4+ and CD8+ T cells in murine lymphoid organs. CD28 dysfunction is associated with diseases such as mycosis fungoides and Sezary’s disease.
