Alexa Fluor™ Plus recombinant antibodies use advanced dye chemistry for brighter and more stable fluorescence signals compared to traditional Alexa Fluor conjugates. These recombinant antibodies provide improved specificity and lot-to-lot consistency by expressing cloned antibody genes in vitro.

Usage Note:
Before use, briefly centrifuge the conjugate solution and use only the supernatant to minimize nonspecific background caused by aggregates.

Tested Application:
Validated in flow cytometry using human PBMCs at ≤ 0.25 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Optimal antibody concentration should be determined empirically depending on cell count (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Target Information

CD28 is a 44 kDa disulfide-linked homodimeric glycoprotein expressed on most peripheral blood T cells. It belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily and serves as a key T-cell co-stimulatory receptor by binding CD80/CD86 on antigen-presenting cells. CD28 prevents T-cell anergy and premature apoptosis, maintaining immune response capability. In mice, CD28 is expressed on all CD4+ and CD8+ T cells, with expression levels varying during thymocyte maturation. Dysregulation of CD28 function is associated with diseases such as mycosis fungoides and Sézary’s disease.
