Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of eEF2K only when phosphorylated at Ser366.
Target Information
EEF2K (eukaryotic elongation factor 2 kinase) is a highly conserved serine/threonine kinase in the calmodulin signaling pathway. Its activity is elevated in several cancers, including breast cancer. EEF2K regulates protein synthesis by controlling peptide chain elongation through phosphorylation of elongation factor EEF2 at a specific site, rendering EEF2 inactive and reducing the rate of protein synthesis. Activation of EEF2K can occur via upstream kinases such as AMPK or TRPM7.
