Product Specific Information

The eBioCW-1.2 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CCR9 (CD199), the receptor for thymus-expressed chemokine (TECK). CCR9, a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) family member, mediates T cell progenitor trafficking within the thymus.
CCR9 expression begins at the DN3 stage (CD4⁻CD8⁻CD25⁺CD44⁻), peaks at the DP stage (CD4⁺CD8⁺CD25⁻CD44⁻), and decreases in committed CD4⁺ or CD8⁺ SP thymocytes. CCR9-deficient mice exhibit mild thymocyte development impairment. In peripheral tissues, CCR9 is expressed on naive CD8⁺ T cells but not on naive CD4⁺ T cells.

Target Information

The CCR9 gene encodes a beta chemokine receptor predicted to be a seven-transmembrane G protein-coupled receptor. Chemokines and their receptors regulate thymocyte migration and maturation under normal and inflammatory conditions.
CCR9’s specific ligand is CCL25, and the gene is expressed differentially by T lymphocytes in the small intestine and colon, suggesting a role in thymocyte recruitment and immune specialization in the gastrointestinal tract. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.
