Target Information
CEA Cell Adhesion Molecule 6 (CEACAM6) belongs to the carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) family, which are GPI-anchored cell surface glycoproteins. Members of this family play a role in cell adhesion and are widely used as tumor markers in serum immunoassay determinations of carcinoma. CEACAM6 affects tumor cell sensitivity to adenovirus infection and serves as a receptor for adherent-invasive E. coli adhesion to ileal epithelial cells in Crohn’s disease patients.
