Target Information
Arx contains two conserved domains, a C-peptide (aristaless domain) and a prd-like class homeobox domain.
It belongs to the group-II aristaless-related protein family, primarily expressed in the central and/or peripheral nervous system.
This protein is implicated in CNS development, and mutations in the Arx gene are associated with X-linked mental retardation and epilepsy.
