Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody reacts with human AITR (Activation Inducible TNFR family member), an approximately 25 kDa member of the TNFR superfamily.
AITR mRNA is detected in lymph node, peripheral blood leukocytes, and weakly in spleen. Expression increases within 24 hours upon PMA/ionomycin or PHA stimulation of PBMC.
At the protein level, AITR is expressed by a small population of activated PBMC and associates with TRAF1, TRAF2, and TRAF3, inducing NF-κB activation via TRAF2.
TL6 (AITRL) is the ligand for AITR, mediating cross-talk between T lymphocytes and endothelial cells.

Applications Tested: Pre-titrated for flow cytometric analysis of stimulated human PBMC. Use at 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Target Information

Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 18 (TNFRSF18), also known as GITR or AITR, is encoded by the TNFRSF18 gene (chromosome 1p36.33).
This receptor is upregulated upon T-cell activation and plays a role in immunological self-tolerance maintained by CD25⁺CD4⁺ regulatory T cells.
Knockout studies in mice indicate its involvement in CD3-driven T-cell activation and programmed cell death.
Three alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
