For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, it is recommended to perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The progesterone receptor (PR) is a member of the steroid family of nuclear receptors and mediates the physiological effects of progesterone, which plays a central role in reproductive processes such as the establishment and maintenance of pregnancy.
PR exists as two isoforms: Form A (94 kDa) and Form B (120 kDa), generated by alternative translation initiation sites.

• PR-B: Transcriptionally active form responsible for endometrial maintenance, pregnancy, and inhibition of ovulation.
• PR-A: Lacks 165 amino acids at the N-terminus, exposing a 140 amino acid inhibitory domain that represses steroid hormone transcriptional activity.

In its inactive state, PgR forms a multiprotein complex with heat shock proteins and immunophilins. Upon binding progesterone, the receptor undergoes conformational change, dimerizes, and binds to progesterone response elements (PRE), activating transcription.
Null mutations in the PGR gene can cause reproductive abnormalities.
