Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The progesterone receptor (PR) is a member of the steroid family of nuclear receptors that mediates the physiological effects of progesterone. It exists as two forms: PR-A (94 kDa) and PR-B (120 kDa), generated by alternative translation initiation.
PR-B is transcriptionally active and regulates genes involved in endometrial maintenance, pregnancy, and inhibition of ovulation. PR-A differs from PR-B by a 165 amino acid deletion at the N-terminus, exposing an inhibitory domain that represses steroid hormone transcriptional activity.
In its inactive state, PgR forms a multiprotein complex including heat shock proteins and immunophilins. Upon progesterone binding, conformational change and dimerization occur, allowing binding to progesterone response elements (PRE) and activation of transcription.
Null mutations in the PGR gene result in reproductive abnormalities.
