Product Specific Information
The monoclonal antibody 1A8-Ly6g reacts with mouse Ly-6G (Gr-1), a 25-kDa GPI protein expressed exclusively by neutrophils. It plays roles in neutrophil infiltration, recruitment, and migration, and associates with B2 integrins CD11a/CD11b. The ligand for Ly-6G is unknown.
Unlike RB6-8C5, 1A8-Ly6g binds only to Ly-6G on neutrophils and can be used to deplete neutrophils with antagonist activity.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested on mouse bone marrow cells; optimal ≤1.0 µg/test (100 µL final volume).
Fluorochrome Information:
Brilliant Ultra Violet™ 563 (BUV563) emits at 564 nm and is designed for UV (355 nm) laser cytometers. Ensure instrument compatibility.
Buffer Recommendation:
When using multiple polymer dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (#SB-4401-42) or Brilliant Stain Buffer™ (#00-4409-75) to minimize non-specific interactions.
Light Sensitivity:
Protect vial and stained samples from light to prevent photo-induced oxidation.
Fixation:
Samples can be stored up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark using IC Fixation Buffer (#00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (#00-5333-54).

Ly6G (Lymphocyte antigen 6 complex locus G6D)
Component of the myeloid differentiation antigen Gr-1, together with Ly6C. Molecular weight: 21–25 kDa. Expressed by myeloid-derived cells in bone marrow. Marker for neutrophils, monocytes, and granulocytes. Expression correlates with granulocyte differentiation and maturation. Involved in anti-tumor response and local immune regulation.
