Product Specific Information

The eBioMWReg30 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD41 (fibrinogen receptor, gpIIb, integrin alpha IIb).
CD41 is expressed on platelets, megakaryocytes, and hematopoietic progenitors in the embryo, fetus, and adult. It forms a receptor with CD61 (gpIIIa, integrin beta III), playing a key role in platelet adhesion and binding to fibrinogen, fibronectin, and vitronectin.

Recent studies using SLAM-family markers (CD48, CD150) identified CD150⁺CD48⁻ bone marrow cells as efficient hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs). Further enrichment by excluding CD41⁺ cells (CD150⁺CD48⁻CD41⁻) enhances long-term multilineage reconstitution efficiency.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested on mouse platelets at ≤0.25 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Cell number may vary from 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Optimal titration recommended.

Target Information

CD41 (platelet glycoprotein IIb, ITGA2B):
Composed of 120 kDa α and 23 kDa β subunits that interact with CD61 to form a functional receptor mediating platelet aggregation and adhesion.
CD41 binds to von Willebrand factor, fibrinogen, fibronectin, and vitronectin upon vascular injury.
Predominantly expressed in the megakaryocyte-platelet lineage and during early hematopoietic differentiation.
Associated disorders include Glansmann Thrombasthenia and Platelet Type-16 bleeding disorder.
