Product Specific Information

The A20 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse CD45 molecule, the leukocyte common antigen (LCA) in CD45.1-expressing mouse strains (SJL/J, DA, STS/A, RIII). CD45.1 is expressed by all leukocytes in these strains.

Fluorochrome Information:
APC-eFluor 780 emits at 780 nm and is excited with the Red laser (633 nm). Ensure instrument compatibility.

Light Sensitivity:
Sensitive to photo-induced oxidation. Protect vial and samples from light.

Fixation:
Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark with minimal impact on brightness and FRET efficiency.

Target Information

CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells (~10% of surface proteins in lymphocytes).
It plays a key role in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling by regulating Src-family kinases.
CD45 exists as multiple isoforms due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic domains.
Isoform expression varies by cell type and physiological state.
CD45 also promotes cell survival via integrin-mediated signaling and participates in DNA fragmentation during apoptosis.
CD45RA is an isoform with restricted expression among lymphoid cell subtypes.
